We were dating for eight months before the pandemic and then I suggested he moved in with me.

He was over the moon and things were great at first.
Lately though, I’ve noticed he’s really tight. He gave up his flat yet I pay for food and all the bills.
We were in the supermarket together recently but as we got to the checkout he said he’d left his wallet at home.
Last week we went out with some of his friends to the pub and when the bill came for our meal, he said he’d forgotten his wallet again.
All his mates fell about laughing and rolling their eyes – so this is obviously a regular occurrence.
He’s 46 and I’m a 48-year-old woman. Am I being taken for a mug?

Also, you need to have an honest conversation and tell him that if he is going to stay, he has to pay his share of the bills.
Perhaps a separate bank account for food, utility bills, rent or mortgage – and his car costs – will help him to see how much things really cost.
You can still keep your own accounts too.
My support pack Family Finances will help him see he must pay his way if your relationship is going to survive.
