Where's Ahsoka Tano During The Bad Batch? | Screen Rant
After the events of the Clone Wars and Order 66, Ahsoka Tano was forced into exile. Here's where she is during the events of Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch sees the return of several characters from The Clone Wars, but it hasn’t been confirmed whether or not fan-favorite former Jedi Ahsoka Tano will appear. Ahsoka was forced to flee into exile after the events of Order 66, staging her death in the hopes of avoiding Imperial pursuit. But where exactly did she go after the Siege of Mandalore, and what would she be doing during The Bad Batch?
The Star Wars novel Ahsoka by E. K. Johnston answers those questions. In the book, Ahsoka flees to the Outer Rim after Palpatine creates the Galactic Empire, eventually settling on the distant planet of Thabeska. She remains there through the first year of the Imperial era, working as a mechanic under the false name Ashla. Ahsoka is eventually forced to flee again when Imperial officials visit the planet, moving on to the planet Raada. This cat-and-mouse game of Outer Rim hiding continued for some time, until eventually Ahsoka joined up with the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire.
Since The Bad Batch takes place in the immediate aftermath of the Clone Wars, it’s likely that Ahsoka is either on Thabeska or on her way there when the show starts. Because her adventures during that time period have already been chronicled, it seems unlikely that she’ll reappear in the new show, but it’s certainly still possible. Captain Rex, who also went into exile after Order 66, features in The Bad Batch, which leaves the possibility open for Ahsoka to make a cameo as well.
It would also make sense for Ahsoka and Clone Force 99 to run into each other since they’ll both be on the run from the Empire. The Bad Batch will be trying their best to avoid Imperial-dominated worlds, just as Ahsoka does, which could lead them to some of the same Outer Rim circles. It would be a lot of fun to see the character make a return to the world of animation after jumping to live-action in The Mandalorian.
Even without Ahsoka, The Bad Batch has a full roster of classic Star Wars characters. In addition to Rex and the members of Clone Force 99, Saw Gerrera, Fennec Shand, Admiral Tarkin, and Emperor Palpatine are all confirmed to appear in the series. And with such a big galaxy to explore, those characters likely won’t be the only ones making comebacks in Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
