STRICTLY Come Dancing is being “ruined by professional whoopers” who have been planted in the studio audience, according to angry viewers.
Disgruntled fans blasted the ITV show and threatened to switch off as they moaned at the broadcaster for airing too much audience reaction.
Many insisted thunderous clapping and screeching has given them earache and said the noise even ruined a jaw-dropping performance from Scottish sensation Lewis Capaldi in last night’s result show.
One person summed up sentiment and tweeted: “Audience whooping & clapping spoiling both the amazing @LewisCapaldi‘s performance AND the stunning dancing.
“What a missed opportunity to create something moving and utterly beautiful. Please put a stop to this nonsense”
Another typed: “Strictly well what a mess the opening number was, flamenco dramatic, full of mood and lust. COMPLETELY spoilt by whooping, shouting and clapping along and not very well to the music. Disrespecting the dancers and musicians. Need sorting out SCD.”
Can't cope with these dodgy volume levels! All the cheers and background noise bursts my eardrums but if I turn the tv down I can't hear what anyone's saying. Sort it out!

Another moaned: “Can’t cope with these dodgy volume levels! All the cheers and background noise bursts my eardrums but if I turn the tv down I can’t hear what anyone’s saying. Sort it out!”
And another said: “The dignity of both dance & music are increasingly compromised with every contrived studio audience holler, whoop & confectionary video vignette. Rewind it please.”
Others have switched off already, as one viewer wrote on Twitter: “Now I know why I VE stopped watching The bloody annoying audience clapping and cheering a an hardly hear the music #Strictly”
Most audience shows have people planted to boost atmosphere – including Britain’s Got Talent, X Factor, and Loose Women.
The hired staff direct the audience before the show and between advert breaks and remind them when it is appropriate to cheer and even when to boo.
Insiders revealed that this year on Strictly, the audience has been asked to cheer throughout the performances.

James Cracknell became the first celebrity contestant to leave Strictly last night.
James and his dance partner Luba performed their jive to Tutti Fruitti by Little Richard, and former England goalkeeper David James and Nadiya Bychkova performed their Paso Doble to Spanish Gypsy by Espana Cani in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition for week three.
After both couples had performed, the judges delivered their verdict with Craig Revel Horwood saying: “Well for me in that dance off one couple improved beyond compare and that couple is the couple I would like to save, David and Nadiya.”
Motsi Mabuse and Bruno Tonioli also chose to save David and Nadiya.
