Stocks close lower as earnings, central bank guidance disappoints
U.S. stocks had one of their worst days in weeks in the wake of disappointing earnings releases and a European Central Bank policy decision that hinted at a less dovish outlook for the U.S. Federal Reserve next week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost the most since June 25, closing down about 120 points at 27,146. The S&P 500 lost 15 points to close at about 3,004. Both indices were down about half a percentage point. Concerns about Facebook and Tesla, , which slid by double digits, weighed on the Nasdaq , which lost about 1%, or 83 points, closing at 8,238.
