AP source: Indians agree to $16M, 2-year deal with 1B Alonso
CLEVELAND (AP) — The Indians didn't take long to cover their opening at first base. After losing Carlos Santana to Philadelphia in free agency, Cleveland agreed to a $16 million, two-year contract with first baseman Yonder Alonso, a person familiar with the negotiations told the Associated Press. The 30-year-old will take a physical on Thursday to finalize the deal, said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the team has not announced the agreement.
