Close call for man as police cars crash
Surveillance shows just how close a man came to being seriously injured in the aftermath of a violent collision of two police cars in Reading.
The , provided by Eliud Rodriguez, shows a man sitting on the front porch of a home on South Sixth Street as the police SUV and car collided in the nearby intersection.
The car was left totaled in the intersection, but the SUV continued careening onto the sidewalk, narrowly passing by the man at a high-rate of speed.
The crash happened as the officers were responding to a police foot chase in the 200 block of North 10th Street. Police said they are investigating whether the officers followed proper protocol in their response to such a call.
