Chances of showers before dry week in Bay Area
A chance of passing showers is on tap for the the Bay Area this weekend before the region gets a stretch of something unique — dry weather, forecasters said Saturday. The isolated showers in the region should bring minimal rainfall totals of around a tenth of an inch or less on Saturday and should not cause problems for the residential neighborhoods that experienced flooding in San Jose this week, said Bob Benjamin, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Monterey. A season of heavy rain has brought frequent reports of mudslides, downed trees, flooding and power outages across the Bay Area. “If it stopped raining we would still be happy campers,” Benjamin said.
