Body found along Alameda Creek IDd as missing teen driver
Alameda County Sheriff’s Office identified the body as Jayda Jenkins, who went missing January after a head-on car crash during a rainstorm sent her vehicle skidding off Niles Canyon Road and into the creek.
Firefighters and police officers from Fremont and Union City recovered the body on the north side of the creek.
Jenkins was driving from Tracy to Menlo Park to meet friends the morning of Jan. 21 when a head-on collision sent her Honda Accord down an embankment into the creek.
Officials reviewed high-definition camera footage along the river and sent out drones, boats and aircraft to look for Jenkins’ body.
