Giants’ Matt Duffy salutes his mother
With game-ending hits on Mother’s Day weekend two years in a row, Giants third baseman Matt Duffy is starting to think that pink could be his favorite color.
On Saturday, Duffy’s walk-off double in the 13th inning sealed a 2-1 Giants win over the Rockies.
On Mother’s Day in 2015, Duffy had his first walk-off hit to beat the Marlins 3-2.
Duffy said he put the bat in a shadow box, along with his arm sleeve, batting gloves and lineup card from the game to give to his mom.
Without a contract with a specific company, Duffy said he has been swinging the same model from different companies since he was drafted.
Duffy, who grew up on Long Beach, said his parents were always at his games growing up.
Manager Bruce Bochy said Buster Posey will take Monday off, the second time in six games he’ll be out of the lineup. …
Asked if the left fielder could avoid the disabled list, Bochy said, I think he can.

Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon hit his first career home run Saturday at age 42.
Giants manager Bruce got a kick out of that: “Your odds are probably better hitting the lottery,” he joked.— Maddie Lee
