House forced to re-vote on tax bill after procedural errors found
WASHINGTON — Just hours after their triumphant passage of a $1.5 trillion tax legislation Tuesday, House Republicans were forced to schedule a re-vote Wednesday after three provisions, including the bill’s title, were ruled illegal under the expedited procedure Republicans are using to pass the bill in the Senate. Democrats successfully challenged the tax bill under the so-called Byrd Rule, which allows legislation to pass the Senate on a simple majority vote, avoiding a filibuster.
