Ganson considering NRL switch

Head of RFL referees Steve Ganson has been offered the position of head of NRL referees Down Under, report League Weekly.

The former international and Super league referee is reported to be seriously considering the offer – especially with all the battles going on between the RFL and Super League at the moment. Tony Archer has recently left his post as head of NRL referees and it appears that Graham Annesley has offered Ganson the role. Читать дальше...

It seems like Hull FC and Wakefield Trinity will be the only two top flight clubs running reserve teams. MC says it costs £30K to run it so if we can find it given our constraints why aren't the others investing. Seems such a shame to me.

Pretty baffled by him being captain last year if I'm honest- would suggest he's held in high regard so would expect him to renew. Deals are done way before the end of the season you'd have thought so he doesn't even have a year to prove himself realistically.

Shaw has to play,his goalkicking could win matches vaivai,would be the one i'd leave out,started great,but was invisible but for short bursts,and then showed us what he can do,and looked to have added a bit of timber towards the season end.Its a tough call which only can be a good sign for us,hopeful for a much improved season.

There are plenty of countries that prosper economically that are outside of the EU. I don't understand why with our current platform - yes we are in the EU - we cannot prosper also outside of the EU. Recently retired from playing the game after 20yrs at prop playing at various levels including internationally and semi pro before going back to amateur.

A lot of the players I played against at amateur I’ve played with and against and become good friends with some of them. Me personally I like to have a bit of a laugh with the opposing players, I find it makes for a much better game and I played better as well, always wanting to get one over on my mate. In an era where fans, players, coaches and clubs alike all complain about the number of games being played (and overplayed in some fixtures) I’m not sure whether this would have any legs in it at all and I doubt it would even get off the ground to be honest.

Personally I think it’d be good for a few years but then as we as a sport always do, mess around with it, make fans and players disillusioned and it’ll die a quiet death with hardly anyone, Sky/BBC included giving little to no attention... Читать дальше...

Inoffski1, each to his own, Gonzo might be a better talent spotter, but there is something that stops him from taking the plunge into head coach. I don't know how he and R M gel, but if I was R M i would be sticking to him like glue and valuing his opinion on playing positions of my squad.

Jensen good call, can t be having excuses like "once the track dries out watch us go" we don't like heavy pitches. The other thing is to take each game seriously, no easy games,no silly dropped points as in previous encounters, I hope everyone realises just how competitive this league will be and it might come down to points difference in the final reckoning.
