Armenia to import tests for coronavirus
“The commission has discussed restricting entry of Chinese citizens into the country. The decision will be made in the next two days. It means that we might need changes in the framework of our international commitments. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will make the corresponding statement,” said Torosyan.
He has underlined that all countries have issues with testing for the coronavirus, not only Armenia.
“It is a new disease so the tests are still being development. This morning we reached an agreement with the Chinese supplier to import their tests. The Armenian Embassy in China will receive the tests and send them to Armenia,” said Arsen Torosyan.
According to him, these tests are taken only if the given patient has the clinical symptoms of the suspected disease.
“I can say with 99.9% probability that there are no cases of coronavirus in Armenia,” added Torosyan.
The World Health Organization has declared the coronavirus a global health emergency because the disease has spread outside of China through human-to-human contact.
