A restaurant with its own farm
When I first tried a new restaurant which recently opened across the road from my apartment building, I got seated by the window. Glancing outside, I saw the neat rows of a vegetable garden and one of the restaurant staff was picking fresh greens for a salad. It was a heartening sight, reminding me of my childhood when our suburban home had enough room for a small vegetable garden, where my grandmother planted a variety of greens, as well as potatoes, beans, and corn. I was especially fond of the tall corn stalks, where one could pick a fresh ear of corn, shuck it, boil it for no more than a few minutes, slather it with butter, and have a feast.
