Finally, Duterte decides to run for president

mb.com.ph (Philippine News)

Saying that he could not allow someone who only possessed “presumptive Filipino citizenship” to run for president of the country, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte last night told former schoolmates from the San Beda College of Law and supporters that he was going to run for the country’s top position in the May 2016 national elections. Best face forward

mb.com.ph (Philippine News)

There’s no escaping makeup. Even if you couldn’t be bothered to spend at least five minutes to put on the basics (powder, blush, mascara, lipstick/lip gloss) just so you have a little color and less oil on your face before you, well, face your audience, you’ll have to wear it at some point. Your graduation, your wedding, a job interview, you know, the important milestones in your life.

Ma’am, yes Ma’am!

Dr. Nona Legaspi runs the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) like a military camp, with a system in place and personal discipline and accountability emphasized. No one is above the rules. No one is exempted. All have their missions and each is a soldier in the hospital’s battle to save and prolong the lives of Filipino war veterans and retired military personnel.

Shopping on the cheap

Shopping? In Hong Kong? Try Guangzhou! Guangzhou is the capital of Guangdong province, what was once famously known as Canton, the Canton of one of the world’s oldest trade fairs, the one that yearly attracts traders and merchants of all shapes, races, and currencies from all over the world for only one reason: the glory of commerce. ‘Neurotic priests scare me’ – Pope

mb.com.ph (Philippine News)

Vatican City — Pope Francis on Friday described some Catholic priests as so scary and neurotic he keeps well away from them. In comments that had his audience chuckling at a conference on training for the priesthood, the 78-year-old Pontiff revealed he is instinctively suspicious of overly pious candidates. “I will tell you sincerely, I’m scared of rigid priests,” he said. “I keep away from them. They bite!” Francis resorted to humour to make a serious point that some people that are drawn to a clerical career are fundamentally unstable ... Читать дальше...

Google, Google, i am sick!

mb.com.ph (Philippine News)

When you don’t know what your symptoms mean, do you go straight to Google? Most people do and that’s perfectly understandable. Considering how easy it is to search online for “headache in the morning” instead of going to the doctor’s office, wait in line (big sigh) and pay a fee, it’s easy to see why people would rather consult Dr. Google than an actual doctor. Diagnosing yourself through an online symptom checker and Googling all your symptoms, hoping for the correct answer in a forum are practices that have become quite common today. Читать дальше...
