Barclays lifted its expectations for the next few rate hikes by the Federal Reserve on Thursday following September's hotter-than-expected consumer-price-index report. The firm now expects 75 basis point rate hikes each at the Fed's November and December meetings, versus a prior expectation for a 50-basis-point move in the final month of the year, according to a note by Jonathan Millar, Pooja Sriram and others at the firm. U.S. stocks opened sharply lower Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling more than 500 points, after the consumer-price index showed that inflation in September was hotter than forecast. Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. KDP said Thursday it is overhauling its supply chain structure with a view to improving accountability at the business unit level and accelerating productivity across the company. The beverages company said it’s promoted three senior supply chain leaders into new roles.
