Shares of Lululemon Athletica Inc. fell 1.2% in afternoon trade Thursday, ahead of the yoga-gear maker's fiscal second-quarter results due out after the close. Analyst Camilo Lyon at Canaccord Genuity kept his rating at hold, but boosted his price target by 35% to $131, saying he expects another "robust" beat of expectations and a raised outlook. Gold prices fell Thursday for a third session in a row to settle at their lowest in a week. Recent upbeat data on the U.S. economy backed expectations for further Federal Reserve interest-rate hikes, dulling the appeal of the yellow metal, which is traded in the U.S. dollar. December gold lost $6.50, or 0.5%, to settle at $1,205 an ounce. That was the lowest finish since Aug. 23 for most-active contract, according to FactSet data.

President Trump cancels 2019 pay raises for civilian federal workers
President Donald Trump said Thursday that civilian employees of the federal government won't get pay raises next year. In a letter to congressional leaders, Trump said pay increases "will be set at zero" for 2019. Trump said in his letter that the government "must maintain efforts to put our Nation on a fiscally sustainable course, and Federal agency budgets cannot sustain such increases." A 2.1% across-the-board increase was scheduled to go into effect in January.

Shares of Tech Data Corp. took a 14% dive in active trade Thursday, after the distributor of technology products and services missed fiscal second-quarter profit expectations, provided a downbeat outlook and outlined a cost-cutting program. Volume of 1.2 million shares was nearly seven-times the full-day average.
