Strong winds tore down trees and homes as Typhoon Molave hit Quang Ngai province in central Vietnam on Wednesday (October 28). Dozens of people have been reported missing in this, just the latest of a wave of storms and flooding to hit the country in recent weeks. Officials said that at least nine people were killed in the Philippines by the typhoon, where it is called Typhoon Quinta. The storm is expected to move into Cambodia and Thailand.

Choppy seas from Typhoon Molave slammed into a Malaysian cargo ship leaving two members of the crew dead yesterday (October 27). The vessel, named, Dayang Topaz was blown around off the coast of Sarawak state in Borneo island when it was smashed by the broken anchor cable of an oil rig. The huge wave that repeatedly battered the ship and the rig was estimated to be at least 15ft high.
