A grenade attack on a police post in Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir state in north India has left at least one person injured on January 24. Militants hurled a grenade at a police post in Waniyar Chowk in the Noorbagh area of old Srinagar city, targeting army officers present there. An officer of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was injured in the grenade attack, CRPF said. The CRPF personnel received splinter injuries on both of his legs and right eye and was admitted in Shourya hospital.

A 14-year-old school student has designed a petrol-powered bicycle with the help of his elder brother in eastern India. The video, recorded on January 22, shows Subham Soubhagya Agasti riding his home-made transportation, as a crowd of onlookers gather to admire his invention. This is the moment an injured python was rescued after being burned by crop fires in Thailand. The snake was found on Wednesday (January 22) in Ang Thong province where local farmers had set alight waste sugar can husks. Fires have caused chronic air pollution this month by sending thick clouds of smoke into the atmosphere. The 13ft long python is another of the victims.
