In a shocking incident, a tutor was arrested on Thursday for molesting an eight year old kid and feeding her urine. The accused performed oral sex on the girl during a tuition class at her house.

National Human Rights Commission is pinning it’s hopes on the verdict of Supreme Court of India to be given adequate powers so that instead of being a mere recommendary body some of its directions are binding on the state in cases of human rights violation, including those committed by armed forces.

The District Administration has given a go ahead to the banks to take action against 125 defaulters. Acting on the directions of the state government, ADC (General) cum Adjudicator Rishipal Singh has issued these orders which include a list of 125 defaulters, from whom the banks have to recover a total of Rs 778.98 crores.

One student died and several others injured when a compound wall near a private school collapsed at Sakhigopal village in Satyabadi block in Puri district on Thursday. Conditions of five students are critical and shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Police on Thursday arrested a 48-year old man for allegedly stalking two women who were coming out of DLF Mall on India on Monday night. The accused has been identified as Abhishek Aggarwal, a resident of Noida Sector 105. The complainants Akansha Singh (26) is a basketball player, while Himani Arjal works for a media house in Noida. The incident took place at around 9 pm.

The SN Jha commission set up by the Haryana government to find out if there was any conspiracy behind the February jat agitation, examined 16 complainants at its sector 47 office on Wednesday. According to sources, out of the 16 complaints only four were found to be of serious nature and the Commission has asked them to submit more evidences to establish their claim. In all it has received around 80 complaints so far, but a majority of these are compensation claims.
