BusinessInsider.com

Marvel

Robert Downey Jr. seems to be going back on his word.

After previously telling USA Today that another standalone "Iron Man" film "isn't in the cards," the actor is hinting that it might just come true after all.

"I feel like I could do one more," Downey recently told "Nightline" on the set of "Captain America: Civil War" of the possibility of another "Iron Man."

Downey plays Iron Man/Tony Stark yet again in the latest "Captain America" film, but most had assumed his hugely successful "Iron Man" trilogy... Читать дальше...

One of the best ways to free up storage on the iPhone is staring you in the face

Your iPhone's Messages app is a hidden storage hog.

Thankfully, video and audio messages delete themselves after a couple of minutes by default, but regular messages, pictures, and GIFs don't, and they can take a lot of space if you don't delete them.

Messages are set to never delete themselves by default, but you can set them to delete after 30 days in your iPhone's settings.

Here's how:

First, head to your iPhone's Settings app and scroll down until you find Messages. Читать дальше...

The Republican Party is more unpopular than it's been in 20 years

The Republican Party's favorability ratings keep declining, even among those within the party itself, according to a new poll from the Pew Research Center.

The party is now the most unpopular it's been since 1992, with 62% of those surveyed saying that they have an unfavorable view of the GOP. That represented a decrease from October, when 58% of respondents had an unfavorable view of the party.

Pew Research reported that the decline in favorability since... Читать дальше...

Report: Ryan Fitzpatrick finds the Jets’ $8-million-per-year contract offer so insulting that he would rather sit out than take it

The New York Jets' stalemate with Ryan Fitzpatrick may be getting worse instead of better as we go further into the NFL offseason.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jets are offering their free agent quarterback a deal worth about $7-$8 million per year. Fitzpatrick is looking for about double that amount.

Schefter reports that he's been told that Fitzpatrick finds the offer so insulting that he would rather sit out the season than take it.

It's a complicated issue, and it's easy to see both sides. Читать дальше...

A new poll shows Donald Trump dominating a state he's not necessarily supposed to win

BusinessInsider.com

A new poll released on Thursday found Donald Trump with a big lead in Oregon, a state not necessarily expected to be favorable to the Manhattan billionaire.

The poll, conducted by the Portland-based Hoffman Research Group, found Trump leading Ted Cruz, a Texas senator, by 17 points.

Trump, the GOP frontrunner, was the choice of 43% of respondents. Cruz was favored by 26%. John Kasich, the Ohio governor, is the top choice of just 17% of those polled. Читать дальше...

The US may be about to admit a lot more Syrian refugees very soon

BusinessInsider.com

Reuters/Murad Sezer

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Thursday he expected the United States would meet a goal of admitting 10,000 Syrian refugees before the end of the year despite delays and opposition from critics concerned about security implications.

As Europe grappled with Syrians fleeing the country’s civil war last autumn, Obama promised to admit 10,000 Syrian refugees by the end of fiscal year 2016. But the State Department reported on March 31, halfway into the fiscal year... Читать дальше...

Kesha releases her first new song since her sex-assault legal drama

BusinessInsider.com

Kesha is in the public eye again, but this time for her music.

The singer has been embroiled in a drawn-out legal battle with her record label company, Sony, as well as her producer Dr. Luke, who she alleges sexually abused her.

Kesha unsuccessfully tried to leave her contractual arrangement with Dr. Luke, whose label is owned by Sony, so she could make music with other producers.

Her last album, "Warrior," came out in 2012, and Kesha's lawyers argued that without new music she was falling into irrelevance. Читать дальше...

This small British sports car maker is absolutely obsessed with making its cars lighter

BusinessInsider.com

Lotus

Lotus' cars are now so light owners should be encouraged to tie them down at night to prevent them from floating away.

The small, British sports car maker announced today that it has slashed a combined 207 kg, or about 456 pounds, from all of its models during this year alone.

That kind of announcement from almost any other manufacturer would be a mundane affair — a common event as models are further developed.

But from Lotus, whose motto has always been "simplify... Читать дальше...

The iPhone's decline is here

BusinessInsider.com

Andrew Mager/Flickr

It was never a question of if, but rather by how much iPhone sales would dip.

As expected, Apple has reported its first-ever decline in iPhone unit sales. The Mac maker sold 51.1 million iPhones last quarter, down 16% from a year ago. That helped drive total revenue of $50.6 billion, which in turn translated into net income of $10.5 billion, or $1.90 per share. The company also expanded its capital return program by $50 billion, of which $35 billion is being set aside for the share repurchase authorization. Читать дальше...

Natalie Clarke, a 15-year-old who owns 5,000 shares of Bank of America, is on to something.

Clarke fired a pressing question at the bank's executives during an annual meeting yesterday, according to Christina Rexrode over at The Wall Street Journal.

What is the bank doing to become more efficient?

The bank is slashing staff as it copes with low interest rates, sluggish trading and the impact of depressed oil prices. In the first quarter, Bank of... Читать дальше...

This is how Taco Bell, Starbucks, and other fast-food chains are using mobile to boost order values

BusinessInsider.com

BI Intelligence

Mobile has gained legitimacy as a commerce channel. Millions of retail locations in the US now accept mobile in-store payments and are also developing e-commerce businesses that support mobile payment options in apps and on mobile websites.

However, quick-service restaurants (QSRs) — also known as fast-casual restaurants — have been turning to mobile order-ahead apps to extract higher sales, intensify customer loyalty, and heighten foot traffic.
