On June 26, a criminal case was launched against Narek Sargsyan on charges of illegal acquisition, sale, storage, transportation and carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives devices, as well as illegal sale, manufacture of drugs, psychotropic drugs and their precursors. He was placed on the international wanted list on July 24.br

According to the police, in cooperation with the European law enforcement agencies and Interpol, Narek Sargsyan was discovered on December 6 in Prague and was detained after presenting a fake passport of a Guatemalan citizen Franklin Gonzales. This information was conveyed to the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia for the organization of his extradition, the Police said.br

On July 6 Armenia's National Security Service released footage of a search of an apartment in Yerevan’s Arami Street owned by Narek Sargsyan, 31, who had traveled to Moscow on June 22 for leaving for a European country. Cocaine, crystal methylamphetamin, four pistols, one of which with a silencer, bullets, pills of unknown origin, plastic tubes with white and black stains, dropping bottles for using drugs and other things were nbsp;found in the suitcases. nbsp;br

The NSS officers also found the drawings by famous Armenian painter Martiros Saryan worth a total of $280,000, Narek Sargsyan had taken from one of the painter’s heirs, promising to pay $28,000 and to use the remaining sum on opening a joint casino, but never fulfilled his promise and ignored repeated demands to return the drawings. -0- nbsp;br
