HUFFPOST HILL - Trump Drops Birther Claims, Now Can Focus On Rafael Cruz's Treasons
Breitbart ran a story about President Obama accompanied by a photo of a gorilla, so thank god that website will never hold any sway with our leaders. Donald Trump demonstrated his media mastery by taking attention away from Hillary Clinton’s worst news cycle to date (he could win this thing, guys!). And on that note. the media spent the entire day recalling Trump’s insane birtherism, so could you all *please* keep your “Why didn’t the media do its job?” bullcrap to yourselves this Thanksgiving? This is HUFFPOST HILL for Friday, September 16th, 2016:
TWO LIES AND A TRUTH - Like some sort of bizarre Newtonian law, Trump can only tell a truth if it is immediately supplanted by a new lie. Arthur Delaney and Jennifer Bendery: “Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump falsely claimed Friday that his opponent Hillary Clinton started the conspiracy theory that President Barack Obama was born in Kenya. ‘Hillary Clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the birther controversy,’ Trump said at a press event at his new luxury hotel in Washington, D.C. ‘I finished it. You know what I mean. President Barack Obama was born in the United States. Period.’ Trump’s claim is staggeringly false because he has long been the biggest ‘birther’ in American politics. For the last five years, Trump has espoused birtherism in interviews and used his Twitter feed to stoke the theory that Obama was born in Africa instead of Hawaii.” [HuffPost]
