Michigan had an interesting start to portal-signing season, the first under new head coach Kyle Whittingham, with the addition of three special-teams players. The Wolverines added long snapper Nico Crawford, punter Cameron Brown, and kicker Trey Butkowski, positions of need, but so were linebacker and edge and defensive back.
