Rupali Ganguly has achieved immense fame with TV serial Anupamaa. She has now become a household name. However, the actress is currently under negative light due to the accusations made her stepdaughter Esha Verma. In the recent months, Rupali has hit headlines as Esha Verma spoke against her through social media and interviews. As per reports, Esha Verma is the younger daughter of Ashwin Verma (Rupali Ganguly's husband) and his second wife named Sapna. He has married twice before getting hitched to the actress. He married for the second time in 1997. Sapna reportedly is a Miss Karnataka 1986 title holder. With Sapna, he has two daughters with Esha being the younger one.

As per a report in Her Zindagi, Esha Verma studied at Rutgers University-New Brunswick and currently resides in New Jersey along with her mother and elder sister.

Ashwin Verma and Sapna reportedly separated in the year 2008. He then married Rupali Ganguly in the year 2013. They have a son named Rudransh.

Back in November 2024, a post made by Esha Verma accusing Rupali Ganguly of extra-marital affair had gone viral. In the post, she claimed that Rupali was the reason behind her parents' separation. In a lengthy note on social media, Esha wrote "This is absolutely pathetic. Does anyone know the real story of Rupali Ganguly? She has had an affair with Ashwin K Verma for twelve years while he was in his second marriage. Ashwin has two daughters from his previous marriages. She is nothing but a cruel-hearted woman who has done nothing but tried to separate me and my sister, his own daughters from their father."

It did not end here. Even though Ashwin Verma refuted all the claims made by his daughter, Esha Verma in several interviews spoke about Rupali. In one of the interviews with Bollywood Bubble, she accused the actress of disrupting and causing emotional harm to her and her mother. She said, "I know my father has said something on X. He said that Rupali was not involved, and that is the biggest lie because Rupali was the one who came to my house in New Jersey and slept on my mother's bed the bed that my father and mother shared. She has done so much, physically, mentally, verbally, and emotionally, abusing me and my mom."

Later on November 11, Rupali Ganguly slapped Esha Verma with a defamation case of Rs 50 crore. The actress' lawyer then mentioned that the Esha Verma's false accusation damaged her reputation. Esha then deleted all the posts related to the actress from social media and even made her account private. However, on February 12, she resurfaced with a fresh accusation against Rupali.

A post made by Esha Verma read, "Ty to the evil step lady for scheduling the next court date on my bday muah.' It caught the attention of the netizens and went viral in no time. Rupali is yet to respond to the same.
