Grant allows Jackson County animal rescue group to buy van
RIPLEY, W.Va. (AP) — An animal rescue organization in Jackson County has a new van it will use in the rescue of endangered pet animals.
Animal Rights Fur-ever organization received a $35,000 grant from the Ross Foundation, a philanthropic, nonprofit foundation to encourage improvement with emphasis in the counties of Wood, Ritchie, Doddridge, Pleasants and Jackson. ARF works against pet overpopulation, abuse and neglect by finding responsible homes for animals; rescuing animals and working with other groups to achieve these goals.
The grant was used to purchase a new 2015 Dodge Ram Promaster van to transport rescued animals to places where they have a chance to be adopted.
