With his announcement, Henry chose to let one of his beloved assistant head coaches, Patrick Murphy, announce it with him. Wells Fargo & Co. said late Wednesday that it will raise its hourly minimum wage to $15 and plans to give $400 million to community and nonprofit organizations in 2018. Wells Fargo stock is flat at $60.14 after hours. The wage hike for U.S. employees is an 11% raise from $13.50, which the bank announced in 2017, the company said. BOSTON (AP) — Republican Dean Tran of Fitchburg has been sworn-in as the newest member of the state Senate, making him the first Vietnamese American to serve in the Massachusetts Legislature. Tran won a Dec. 5 special election to replace Democrat Jennifer Flanagan, who left the Senate after being appointed to the Cannabis Control Commission. Republican Gov. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A private corrections company's CEO is seeking to reassure Kansas lawmakers that a plan they're reviewing for building a new state prison is the most cost-effective option. A joint committee on budget issues met Wednesday to review a plan for a new prison for 2,400 inmates in Lansing to replace the state's oldest and largest prison there.
