Bayern Munich have announced the signing of Sandro Wagner from Bundesliga rivals Hoffenheim on a two-and-a-half-year deal. Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed on Wednesday that an agreement was close, with Wagner to complete his switch to the Allianz Arena on January 1 after putting pen to paper on a contract until June 2020. Victoria Police told reporters on December 21 that they were treating an incident in which a car was driven into pedestrians near Flinders Street station in Melbourne as a “deliberate act”. They said the motivations were still unknown. The police said that 14 people were injured and a number of those were in critical condition.
