US unwilling to lift sanctions on North Korea
US President Donald Trump says North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was willing to dismantle the nuclear facility of Yongbyon, and in return he wanted all sanctions against his country lifted, which the US was dissatisfied with. On the second day of the summit in Hanoi, talks between the two leaders were over after a few hours, achieving a verbal agreement from North Korea that they will run no more nuclear testing. Addressing the press following the summit, Mr Trump described Kim as ‘quite a character’ and the summit as ‘really very productive’ but said ‘sometimes you just have to walk’. Mr Trump declined to comment on whether Mr Kim wanted to keep some of his nuclear weapons, but said he 'he has a vision' of what Kim Jong Un wants. President Trump and Kim Jong Un have not yet agreed to meet again.
