Chelsea FC news: Antonio Conte close to exit as Carlo Ancelotti meets Napoli chief edging Maurizio Sarri closer to Blues
Antonio Conte moved closer to the exit door at Stamford Bridge after a managerial merry-go-round started in Italy.
According to The Sun, Carlo Ancelotti met with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis in Rome last night.
That could spell the end for Maurizio Sarri, who is a well-known target for the Chelsea hot seat, at the Stadio San Paolo.
Just 24 hours ago De Laurentiis insisted: “There is no more time for Sarri.”
The Blues would rather he is sacked, as it means they would not have to pay compensation for his services.
The complex domino effect is still waiting for the first concrete move but the unfolding events in Italy are not helping Conte’s case for staying.
If Chelsea fire the Italian, they will have to pay £9.6million for the final year of his contract or until he gets another job.
