Sanchez reveals what Manchester United must do to win titles next term

Manchester United's highest paid player Alexis Sanchez has admitted that he is not at his best for the Red Devils since he joined them during the January transfer window from Arsenal. He only scored two goals in 12 games.

Manchester United superstar Alexis Sanchez has admitted that he is struggling to adapt to the style of play of his manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

The Chilean forward joined the Red Devils during the winter transfer window from Arsenal, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving the opposite direct.

He scored just two goals in 12 Premier League matches for the Old Trafford outfit in the second half of the season – a performance considered to be below average for a player of his caliber.

However, the former Barcelona star according to Tribal Football citing Daily Star claims his club’s tactics has made it difficult for him to thrive.

Though, he was instrumental to United’s dramatic comeback against comeback against Manchester City in the league and Tottenham in the FA Cup, the rest of his games were nothing to write about.

And when asked about his performance at the club so far, he admitted that he has not been able to adapt to the club’s style while also trying to get acquainted with his teammates.

"I think that in every game I've played in I've maybe found it hard to adapt to the style of play and I've been getting to know my teammates. I believe we need to improve in all aspects.

"We need to be focused and concentrated in the big games and the same in the so-called lesser games too.

"That's what the great sides do and I think United are a great side, so that's what we need to do."

Sanchez scored three goals in all competitions for Manchester United since he joined them back in January, while scoring seven goals in 19 appearances for his former side Arsenal in the first half of the season.

He spent four years at the Emirates Stadium – scoring 60 goals in 122 topflight games for the Gunners, before switching sides five months back.

The forward was unable to inspire the Red Devils to win silverware in the recently concluded season, but had won two FA Cups and one Community Shield with Arsenal during his reign at the club.

He played three seasons at the Camp Nou and won a Spanish League with Barcelona, along with a Copa Del Rey, two Spanish Super Cups and one UEFA Super Cup – including one FIFA Club World Cup.

Sanchez was part of the Chilean national team that won the Copa America title back to back in 2015 and 2016 – beating Lionel Messi’s Argentina on both occasions.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that Alexis Sanchez got his chance to say goodbye to outgone Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in Manchester United's 2-1 win over the Gunners in earlier this month.

The Red Devils defeated the Gunners 2-1 in that encounter to deny the Emirates Stadium a chance of finishing in the Champions League spot.
