168 Zham: Armenia-Russia relations plunging into chaos - Russian analyst
The Armenian-Russian relations are deteriorating at slow but steady peaces, with the mutual understanding retreating at times and the insults over sensitive issues gaining a strong ground, the paper says, citing a Russian analyst.
In an interview with 168 Zham, Director of the Strategic Communication Laboratory Denis Dvornikov shared his pessimistic outlook on the developing strategic alliance, highlighting the younger generation’s very dim vision of the two countries’ shared future.
“If our foreign policy institutions – in conjunction with the international law experts specializing in the Transccaucasus – fail to re-establish their [collaborative] work, Armenia will be excluded from the list of Russia’s natural allies in about a decade. An importantly, the stronger side normally has burden of responsibility in such cases,” he noted.
Addressing the Russian-Azerbaijani weapons trading, Dvornikov said he thinks that the deal is advantageous only to a restricted number of individuals, with Russia’s reputation on the whole being seriously at stake. “It is really difficult to comment on a situation in which your country demonstrates an inadequate behavior,” he added.
