NFL Shop accidentally sent ‘Conference Championship Bound’ emails to fans of the 4 teams that lost
The league’s source for official licensed merchandise really twisted the dagger here.
It’s bad enough to watch your favorite team’s Super Bowl hopes evaporate with a loss in the Divisional Round. Nobody needs the NFL Shop rubbing salt in those wounds with an email mistake.
Except that’s exactly what fans of the Saints, Falcons, Titans, and Steelers woke up to on Monday morning.
The Saints almost pulled it off, but Stefon Diggs saved the day for the Vikings with a miraculous last-second touchdown. But this is what Dave Cariello of SB Nation’s Saints site, Canal Street Chronicles, got from the NFL Shop today.
NFL Shop has made a terrible, terrible mistake. As if this wasn't the worst Monday already. -dc pic.twitter.com/O2bsdOmUTE

Ouch. Falcons fans may have felt a bit better after watching their NFC South rival lose in crushing fashion. Instead, this email was still a punch to the gut after the Falcons lost to the Eagles, 15-10.

Surely they wouldn’t make the same mistake with the Steelers and the Titans, right? Wrong.
@NFL I think your team over at NFL shop missed the game yesterday. Steelers aren’t conference championship game bound. pic.twitter.com/OK2r0XUIBY

At least this Titans fan had a sense of humor about the fact that his favorite team has “mutually decided to part ways” with head coach Mike Mularkey.
Apparently NFL Shop likes the firing of Mularkey so much it’s predicting where we will be this time next year. @JasonWolf @Titans @natebain pic.twitter.com/q5hB8met3Q

Congratulations to the Vikings, Eagles, Patriots, and Jaguars, who all did make their respective conference championships. Hopefully fans of those teams got these emails, too.
