(Reuters) - Ohio environmental regulators on Friday told federal energy regulators the state has significant concerns about the potential for a spill from Energy Transfer Partners' drilling as the company works on the Rover natural gas pipeline. The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency said in a filing with the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) that it learned this week that 148,000 gallons of drilling fluid were "lost down the hole" that ETP is drilling under the Tuscarawas River in Stark County, Ohio. NEW YORK (AP) — Two of the nation's biggest banks — JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo — indicated Friday that they expect to see significant future benefits from the recently enacted GOP tax bill, through both lower taxes and increased business. The comments came as the two companies reported their quarterly results, which were both heavily impacted by the change in tax laws, but in different ways. JOHANNESBURG — Africans were shocked on Friday to find President Trump had finally taken an interest in their continent. But it wasn’t what people had hoped for. DETROIT (AP) — A former court employee who said she was illegally fired will have to pursue a Detroit-area judge — not taxpayers — for a $734,000 jury verdict. The Michigan Supreme Court said Friday that it will let an appeals court decision stand. It means Dearborn Judge Mark Somers is responsible for paying the award to Julie Pucci, as well as more than $360,000 in legal fees. JOHANNESBURG (AP) — The Latest on President Donald Trump's comments on Africa and Haiti (all times local): 10:50 p.m. The U.S. Embassy in South Africa says the United States "deeply respects the people of Africa" as President Donald Trump's remark about immigrants from Africa causes outrage across the continent. The U.S. embassy says on Twitter "there has been no change in our dedication to partners and friends across the continent." African leaders have expressed shock and disgust at Trump's comment.

• The US Marshals Service announced Thursday that it plans to auction off approximately 3,813 bitcoins, worth about $53 million, that were seized in "various federal criminal, civil, and administrative cases."

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A California man accused of making a hoax emergency call that led to the fatal police shooting of an unarmed man in Kansas has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. Twenty-five-year-old Tyler Barriss made his first court appearance in Kansas Friday following extradition from California. He was also charged with giving false alarm and interference with a law enforcement officer. Bond was set at $500,000. Barriss did not immediately return a message left Friday at the jail.
