Cristiano Ronaldo wins 9.8m court case against Juventus
Former Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has won a court case against the Bianconeri, who won’t be entitled to recover the €9.8m paid to the Portuguese as part of a long-running wages dispute.
Turin labour judge Gian Luca Robaldo has issued a ruling in the long-running case regarding Cristiano Ronaldo’s wages at Juventus, which has dragged on since the Portuguese left the Allianz Stadium to return to Manchester United in 2021.

As Gazzetta reports, the judge rejected the appeal filed by the Bianconeri, who, as a consequence, won’t be entitled to recover €9.8m paid to Cristiano Ronaldo as part of his outstanding wages at the Allianz Stadium.
Ronaldo had left the club in 2021 with €19.6m still owed to him from the COVID period, prompting him to take legal action against Juventus in 2023 and sending the dispute to arbitration.
Ronaldo’s Juventus salary
In April 2024, the arbitration panel ruled that Juventus should pay Ronaldo half that sum, €9.8m, as the private deal between the club and their ex-player, which was also investigated by Italian authorities, did not include Ronaldo’s signature.
Juventus appealed the decision, but today’s ruling confirms the club has no right to reclaim the funds from CR7.
Juventus will also have to cover the legal costs, but the ruling will have no impact on the balance sheet as the amount had already been paid and set aside in the 2023-24 financial statement.
Juventus are expected to review the judgment to assess whether there are grounds for a further legal challenge.
