Final games tomorrow:
Ukraine, Czech Republic, and Turkey play in Pool C for places 5, 6 & 7. Ukraine and Turkey brought their Pool B game over to Pool C, so Ukraine is in the lead at the moment with 3 points after their 2-1 win.
The match Czech Republic-Ukraine started with many mistakes and not many chances. Within a time frame of 3 minutes, the Czechs scored a PC via Adam VAŇKO and a field goal by Jan BRZÁK. In the 3rd quarter, Czech Republic kept pressing and earned a PC which was stopped with the body on the line. Josef TOMS scored the first penalty stroke of CZE in this event. Jan BRZÁK with another field goal meant
the end score was 4-0 to the Czech Republic. On Saturday the last Pool C match is played between the Czech Republic and Turkey.
Semi-Final 1 France-Poland proved to be a close game and close it would be! A 12th-minute goal from Jules VERRIER gave Les Bleus the lead. In the 27th minute, Dominik MAŁECKI equalized, but in the same minute, Jules VERRIER put the French ahead again, scoring his 4th goal of the event. Szymon CYPRYCH scored the equalizer in the 3rd quarter. A typical semi-final with both teams defending hard and sometimes too hard according to the umpires, resulting in some cards. France got various corners in the last quarter, but the Polish defense was like a wall: 2-2 after 60 minutes meant shoot-outs. The 2 goalkeepers Marius CLÉMENT and Dawid SKRZYPIEC were the ones to win it for their nation.
Szymon CYPRYCH put POL in the lead before Jules BOURNAC was the first player to miss. Maksymilian PAWLAK and Dominik TURIJ for Poland and Noé JOUIN and Arthur GOLLIOT for France all scored making it 3-2 to Poland after 6 shoot-outs. Mateusz WIŚNIEWSKI missed before Mathis CLÉMENT also wasn’t able to find the back of the net. Matchpoint to Poland, but Kamil STASZEWSKI could not convert as he was denied by Marius CLÉMENT. Last shoot-out and the chance for France to earn a sudden-death shoot-out. Jules VERRIER again against goalkeeper Dawid SKRZYPIEC. Where he was able to score during regular play twice, didn’t happen now. A hard hit went just outside of the goal post, assuring the Polish a place in the Final, but more importantly promotion to the EuroHockey U18 Championship 2023.
Semi-Final 2 Austria-Italy was again played for a full house. 3 years ago in Cardiff, this match ended in a 4-3 win to the Austrians. Today the gap would be bigger. The 2nd quarter was clearly for the Austrians as they scored 4 times: Fülöp LOSONCI, Marcin NYCKOWIAK (PC), Josef WINKLER and Tim FLICKER made sure the half-time score was 4-0. Again Tim FLICKER in the 43rd minute, Florian HACKL Paul BRÄUTIGAM, and Henri MATZENAUER all with field goals made it 8-0. A few minutes before the end Felix DIONISI VICI was able to put Italy on the scoreboard which led to an explosion of joy by the Italian fans. The final result was 8-1; Austria to the Final against Poland tomorrow.
Both teams will be 2023 in the EuroHockey U18 Championship. Congrats to both teams.

Switzerland 3:1 Belarus
What a win for Switzerland! Belarus fought hard and had quite a few chances, but everytime
they didn’t convert a chance, Switzerland scored to take the win and put themselves in a
good place for tomorrow.
Luxembourg 1:9 Croatia
Dominant performance for Croatia and just what they needed to bounce back after their loss.
Luxembourg managed to score quite a nice one to get one back.

Lithuania 2 : 1 Turkey
Second to last match for the girls tournament and what a win for Lithuania. Quite an
surprising equalizing goal for Turkey put Lithuania in shock, but they managed to recover
and win it.
Croatia 1 : 4 Ukraine
Our last match of the tournament had a point to prove for both teams. Ukraine wanted to go
out without a defeat as Croatia wanted to take second place. Ukraine came out strong and
after a dominant first half performance they calmly finished the match.
