WWE and AEW have both been forced to cancel events amid the coronavirus – but one Japanese wrestling promotion is still going ahead business as usual.
And blood-thirsty fans have been lapping up the action in Yokohama as Big Japan Pro Wrestling opened its door for their latest spectacular.
Despite a host of events with crowds of over 50 being axed across the planet in order to try and stop the spread of the coronavirus, the promotion’s competitors appeared determined to give those who had risked coming along their money’s worth.
Ryuji Ito and Abdulllah Kobayashi competed in a “Fluorescent Lamp” match at the Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium earlier today.
And they were both left bloodied and cut to pieces by the shattered glass they had used on each other.
It was Iro who retained his championship in that clash – but another match ended up being even more brutal.
Minoru Fujita battled Toshiyuki Sakuda in a cactus and scorpion box match – and as you can see from the photos, at least one of them came face-to-face with the prickly pines and deadly animal.
The action continued throughout the night in the Far East with a host of competitors left with blood pouring from their bodies.
The decision to keep its doors open comes with WWE’s WrestleMania 36 on the verge of being called off in Tampa due to the outbreak of the deadly bug.
