Claudia Gadelha vs. Marina Rodriguez headed to UFC Oklahoma City
Strawweights Claudia Gadelha and Marina Rodriguez will meet at the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Oklahoma City, Okla. on May 2.
UFC officials announced the pairing on Wednesday as the first confirmed fight for the upcoming show in Oklahoma.
Gadelha returns to action after her most recently scheduled fight at UFC 246 was cancelled after opponent Alexa Grasso came in 5.5 pounds over weight. Because Grasso was over the allowable limit for a strawweight contest, the Nevada State Athletic Commission scrapped the fight.
Gadelha will now return in May as she looks to build on her last win over Randa Markos at UFC 239 in July 2019. Overall, Gadelha is 4-2 in her last six fights including wins over former champion Carla Esparza and former title contender Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez steps into the bout with an undefeated record at 12-0-2 with her last fight ending in a draw against Cynthia Calvillo this past December. Rodriguez has actually fought to two draws during her UFC career while also holding wins over Jessica Aguilar and Tecia Torres.
No main event has been announced yet for the upcoming UFC card in Oklahoma City.
