Despite being reduced to 10-men, the Clarets managed to restore parity through a Lyle Foster goal.
But Villa had the last laugh as Douglas Luiz scored the winner from the spot after Aaron Ramsey fouled Jhon Duran.
The result leaves Burnley in 19th spot in the Premier League table, with five points off safety.

Tottenham will be missing Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, Manor Solomon, Alfie Whiteman, Cristian Romero, and Pape Matar Sarr as they are all out injured. Yves Bissouma will also be absent as he will be serving suspension.
As for Burnley, Luca Koleosho is in the treatment room at the moment while Sander Berge’s will also be missing due to his red card against Aston Villa last time out.
