Feeling spiritually lost is not just about feeling confused about God, the universe or your core beliefs, it’s about feeling confused about yourself, your place in the world and what any of it really means. It’s about feeling disconnected from a sense of purpose, from a deeper part of yourself that once felt safe. When you’re lost spiritually, it creates a void you don’t really understand but the feeling is always unsettling. 

But here’s the comforting truth, feeling spiritually lost is a normal human experience, a journey many of us embark on at different points in our lives. It is not a sign of failure, in fact, it can be an invitation for deeper self-discovery and a more authentic connection to what truly resonates with you. What may feel like a breakdown can actually be a breakthrough. 

Sometimes, we need to shed the old beliefs, the worn-out versions of ourselves and make room for something more authentic, something deeply personal and true, not just borrowed from others. Give yourself permission to be exactly where you are because sometimes you need to step away from what you once believed in to realize whether you want it or not. Whether you miss it or not, whether it’s healing you or hurting you.

Sometimes you need to step away and question things so you can be sure of the answer. This is not about abandoning your beliefs, but about allowing them to evolve. This is not about abandoning God, but about finding him in other ways, even if it looks different from what you’re used to. 

So before you give up, remember that feeling spiritually lost isn’t necessarily a detour from God; it might be the very path drawing you closer to him, because on that journey, you get to know yourself more clearly, you find your calling, you build your own beliefs and you become more in touch with yourself. You begin to understand who you really are and what God really means to you, and ironically, the more you find God on your own, the more spiritually connected you will feel to him.

Because what feels like the end of the story, could actually be the beginning of your most sacred and spiritual relationship with God yet.
