‘What year is it?’ fashion fans wonder as Primark drops denim skirt that looks like it’s ‘from a time capsule’
IT’S 2024, but fashion fans were left wondering if they’d gone back in time when they saw one of Primark’s latest offerings.
The high-street store shared a look at some of their new arrivals, including a denim miniskirt that was giving total throwback vibes.
The Denim Tiered Ruffle Mini Skirt is actually from Rita Ora’s newest range, and will set you back £16.
Primark posted a video of some of their latest arrivals on Instagram, captioning it: “Our most-wanted picks from the latest Rita Ora X Primark collection.”
But in comments section, numerous people admitted they’d seen similar skirts before – decades ago.
“What year is it???” one wondered.
“Definitely had a skirt like that back in 2003,” another insisted.
“It’s like they’ve dredged the stock room and stuck a Rita Ora label on it!”
“I’m sure I have a skirt like that somewhere,” a third added.
“We are back to the 90s. For those that remember,” someone else wrote.
“Sorry are we going back in a time capsule?” another questioned.
“As I’ve done these looks in my teens in early 00s!
“I’ll pass!”
“What in the 2004??” someone else said.
“The first skirt looks so 00s,” another wrote.

As another said: “What in the 1995 is going on?!”
The throwback looks continued with a fringed bag, a butterfly hair claw clip, and a black minidress that looked very Y2K.
“It’s 1984 by the look of things,” one wrote.
“I feel like Rita Ora went back in time..” another added.
“Reminds me of my teenage years – 20 yrs ago!!” a third insisted.
“Is 2000s fashion coming back?” someone else said.
But there were some people who loved Rita’s range, with one writing: “I’m so surprised at the comments – this is my fave Rita collection so far!
“Maybe not every item shown here, but in store, there’s so much nice stuff.”
“Love the black dress,” another agreed.
“I love the gothy style stuff, I brought so much of the black clothing from the last drop,” a third said.
“I need the denim skirt,” someone else insisted.
