PAUL Sinha stunned Beat The Chasers fans as he revealed a secret date with a Coronation Street legend before marrying his husband.
This week, a number of famous faces have appeared on The Chase‘s spin off show to try and win cash for their chosen charities.
On Wednesday’s episode, host Bradley Walsh was joined by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, David James, Shobna Gulati and Will Bayley.
Bradley was delighted to see Shobna, and told the audience they had been pals ever since they worked together on Coronation Street.
He recalled their first scene together, where Shobna – who played Sunita Alahan – told him she was going to slap him, and promptly gave him a good clip.
After they had reminisced, Shobna attempted to answer questions to build up her initial prize pot, and managed to get two right, taking £2,000 to the Chasers.
Bradley then explained why Chasers would be playing for each amount of money and time on the clock, with the first two brainboxes taking part being Anne Hegerty and Paul, the Sinnerman.
The cameras then panned to the pair and Paul shocked viewers as he revealed: “We’ve not met since that dinner our parents arranged for us all those years ago.”
With a chuckle, Shobna replied: “I know, I know… the reason why I didn’t marry you is because…you are a doctor.”
It was Paul’s turn to laugh before he referenced Bradley’s previous anecdote and joked: “I still remember that slap.”
The star – who has been a Chaser since 2011 – has been happily married to husband Oliver since December 2019.
Meanwhile Shobna was married for four years from 1990 to 1994, before having a four year relationship with former Emmerdale actor Gary Turner from 1999 until 2003.
Unfortunately for the actress – who left Coronation Street in 2013 – she got a number of questions wrong and was beaten by the Chasers.
However, as it was a celebrity special, she was still able to go home with £1,000 for her charity.
Meanwhile, viewers branded the show a fix after Laurence narrowly lost out on winning thousands of pounds for charity.
After his first round, Laurence chose to go up against four Chasers for £30,000, giving the quiz titans 38 seconds on the clock.
Laurence’s tense round went down to the wire, but he was unfortunately beaten with just one second to spare.
Taking to social media, one viewer fumed: “Getting very annoyed with #beatthechasers @ITV. The contestants’ countdown clock starts instantly.
“Bradley says their name; the Chasers’ clock starts a second after he has said their name. Every. Single. Time. So fixed. It’s a shame as the premise is okay.”
Another commented: “There’s a smell of a fix about this one #beatthechasers.”
