The Coral Sussex Cup (8.38pm) is staged around the same time as Glorious Goodwood to continue the Sussex theme.
This year’s renewal is a fascinating contest which features the exciting Bockos Doomie.
Patrick Janssens’ superstar has a remarkable record at Hove having won his last 11 starts at the track.
This is something unheard of not just in greyhound racing, but also sport in general and he is the ante-post favourite to record a famous 12th victory at the track.
The other £10,000 final at Hove on Saturday evening is the Regency Final (8.54pm).
First run in 1948, the Regency is one of the major staying prizes on the greyhound racing calendar.

Greyhound racing tips
8.38pm – £10,000 Coral Sussex Cup (Open Race over 515m)
- Fight The Power – Hit the crossbar in the heats and needs to take a big step forward in pace to take this prize back to Henlow.
- Killeacle Gus – Second to Bockos Doomie last time out, he shows quick early but looks booked for the places.
- Bockos Doomie – The favourite and most likely winner. He has overcome trouble in the previous rounds of the competitive and has won his last 11 races at Hove. He is difficult to oppose and should win for Patrick Janssens.
- Tommys Panther – The main danger to the favourite. He has impressed in the heats and was always in command in his semi-final. A danger if breaking well.
- Distant Village – Another live contender. He chased home Tommys Panther last time out and it would be no surprise if he reversed that form here.
- Drahbeg Dash – Smooth winner of his semi-final which came in a good time and is well-drawn, but he needs to show further improvement to defeat Bockos Doomie.
Top Tip – Bockos to prove a Doomonger to his rivals
Bockos Doomie has a remarkable record of 11 successive wins at Hove.
He has looked good in his two heats, which included overcoming trouble in his opening heat.
Barring issues early, he should take plenty of stopping.

8.54pm – £10,000 Coral Regency Final (Open Race over 695m)
- Affleck Lady – Has impressed in her two heats, but those victories have come in slightly slow times. A draw in stall one is also a major negative.
- Zascandil – Beaten a neck by competition favourite Antigua Fire and was unlucky not to hold on. However, a draw of trap two tempers enthusiasm – place claims here.
- Unlikely Rogue – Trap draw is a negative and he has plenty to find on form.
- Affirmed – Did it nicely to land his semi-final but that came in a slow time and more is needed in the final.
- Southfield Code – Major player. Broke poorly when second to Affirmed in his semi-final. He stayed on strongly that day and if trapping with more zest, he holds leading claims for Kevin Hutton
- Antigua Fire – A deserving favourite. He has done it the hard way in his two heats but ran on strongly to score by a neck last time out. A reproduction of his eight-length romp in the first round will make him hard to beat.
Top Tip – Antigua to turn up the heat
A fascinating tactical battle between Southfield Code and Antigua Fire.
The former was slow away last time and will be a danger if trapping with greater fluency in the final.
However, Antigua Fire sets the standard on his brace of wins in the competition so far and looks to be well-drawn again here.
