Landry-Walker captures first-ever state championship
NEW ORLEANS — Landry-Walker senior quarterback Keytaon Thompson threw three first-half touchdown passes and five for the game to lead the Charging Buccaneers to a 50-21 victory over West Monroe in the 2016 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 5A state football championship Saturday night in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
The championship for Landry-Walker (13-2) is the first in school history for the school that was born in 2013 out of a consolidation of former rivals L.B.
