President Sargsyan hears complaints of estranged districts’ residents
President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday met with estranged Yerevan districts’ residents who had gathered outside his office to raise their complaints and concerns.
The crowd demanded a serious attention to their housing problems which they claimed haven’t found a solution in the past 10 years. Their houses, in the streets Arami, Khanjyan and Hanrapetutyuan, were declared a state priority in 2007. The former residents have been ever since demanding compensation for the property lost.
Sargsyan faced the crowd as the presidential car column accompanying him pulled up by his residence.
After hearing the complaints raised, he promised to undertake proper efforts to address the problem. “I will issue instructions in the couple of days to come so that a [commission of experts] will be sent there to study the situation,” he said.
