'For the Sake of Yerevan': Republican politician announces slogan in municipality elections
The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is running for the Yerevan city council electins with the slogan “For the Sake of Yerevan”, a deputy leader of the ruling political force said today.
Speaking to Tert.am, Armen Ashotyan also introduced their platform proposing steps towards developing the capital city in the coming four years.
“The new platform too, is professionally oriented; it is a package proposing projects in different sectors. It is realistic not ambitious,” he said.
Yerevan residents elect a municipal council every four years. The Republican's slogan in the 2013 elecitons was “A Better Yerevan”. This year's elections are slated for May 14.
The RPA’s platform will be anchored on professional analyses and the best practices known both internationally and locally, Ashotyan added.
“The campaign will be very informative and meaningful, as well as interactive in essence. We treat the campaign as yet another opportunity to communicate with residents of our city to hear their proposals and concerns,” he said.
The party, which launched the website Lovearmenia.am ahead of the April 2 parliamentary election, is now operating another online platform, Loveyerevan.am, to ensure a better access to its pre-election program and campaign-related activities.
“This is the continuation of our call voiced in the run-up to the parliamentary election,” Ashotyan said, adding that incumbent Mayor Taron Margaryan will be largely responsible for the Republican’s pre-election race.
