Zhoghovurd: Amnesty bill to be sent to parliament in November?
The amnesty bill dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence is expected to be sent to the National Assembly after discussions of the government program for 2017, the paper has learned.
Further procedures require that the document be considered and put to vote within five days after such submission. The paper claims that the approximate timeframes will be in early November (the executive was earlier asked to submit the program to parliament).
Noting that the ruling Republican Party is scheduling its congress for November 26, the paper says that the authorities will in most likelihood choose a date ahead of the key meeting to increase their chances of success in the upcoming parliamentary election.
