Mike Remmers returns to practice Friday for Vikings
The Vikings offensive line was intact again during Friday’s practice, a good sign ahead of Sunday’s NFC North opener against the Detroit Lions.
Right tackle Mike Remmers, who was held out Thursday due to an illness, was back with his teammates during the 15 minutes of practice open to reporters on Friday.
The only Vikings player not present was starting quarterback Sam Bradford, who has already been ruled out for Sunday by head coach Mike Zimmer. Bradford’s troublesome left knee will keep him out for a third straight game with his injury appearing to be more of a week-to-week recovery than day-to-day, as Zimmer initially suggested.
Stay tuned for the final Vikings-Lions injury report later this afternoon.
Some more personnel notes: the Vikings have done due diligence on available tight ends, bringing in four free agents for private workouts this past week, according to a source. That includes former Cowboys second-round pick Gavin Escobar, who was last with the Chiefs this summer.
