Mitch Trubisky Fired Rocket 1st Pitch, Chugged Beer and Celebrated a Sox Win
Mitch Trubisky is fast establishing himself as Chicago’s favorite quarterback ever. The young Bears QB is coming off one of the best playoff performances that position has ever delivered. Over 300 yards and a touchdown. He got his team to a 12-4 record and had a 95.4 season passer rating. The best a Bears quarterback has yet delivered.
How has he celebrated? By working hard in the offseason, doing charity work, and preparing for 2019. Even so, it seems he’s managed to take some time and have fun. Not without his teammates of course. He and his offensive line along with Trey Burton and Chase Daniel were on hand for the Chicago White Sox game as they hosted the Cleveland Indians Friday evening.
Yet even amidst it being a baseball game, Trubisky found a way to be the center of attention. It started before the game when he was tasked with throwing out the first pitch. Not a surprise with him being a quarterback. Throwing is kind of his thing. Even so, the Bears managed to put a fun spin on it by lining up his offensive linemen in front of him before delivering.
Predictably, it was a heater.
Mitch Trubisky wasn’t done there though
Towards the conclusion of the game, Daniel decided to put his teammate and Kyle Long together on video chugging beers. No doubt intended as a troll of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers who famously failed to full down one during Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals between Milwaukee and Toronto.
Sure enough, the Bucks lost that game. Trubisky made sure to represent his city properly.
He even did it twice for good measure.
It seems Trubisky satisfied the sports gods because the White Sox ended up rolling to a 6-1 victory over the Cleveland. It marks a five-game win streak for them and puts them in 2nd place in the American League Central. Something nobody saw coming at the start of this season. Hopefully this offers a good open for the Bears’ season to come as well.
