Santa Clara, Kerry Keating part ways after 9 seasons
LAS VEGAS — Kerry Keating’s run as Santa Clara’s head coach has ended after nine seasons.
Keating’s final game at the helm was a 72-60 loss to BYU in a WCC tournament quarterfinal Saturday.
The Broncos have been hit by an inordinate number of injuries the past two seasons.
[...] Keating failed to get the Broncos into the NCAA Tournament or the NIT, and Santa Clara did not finish among the top three teams in the conference in any of his nine seasons.
“Coach Keating has been very dedicated to our men’s basketball program over the past nine years,” athletic director Renee Baumgartner said in a statement released by the school.
