Heated presidential race comes to Louisiana with primaries
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The heated presidential race comes to Louisiana on Saturday with voters casting their ballots for the nominees in the Republican and Democrat primaries.
Trump made a last-minute campaign stop in New Orleans Friday evening, his second campaign appearance in the state this year.
Trump touched on familiar themes during his rally, promising to build a wall on the Mexican border, railing against leaders he called "stupid" and "incompetent," and slamming President Barack Obama's Iran nuclear deal.
Unlike other statewide races, the Louisiana presidential primaries are closed races, meaning that only registered Democrats and Republicans can vote in their respective party's races.
